You’d never know it, but this uber-cool teal-toned bed is actually constructed from some off-the-shelf white MALM units from Ikea. MALM is considered an Ikea design classic range – its simplicity (both in terms of aesthetic and construction) is testament to IKEA’s design and DIY brilliance. 

Here, the now iconic Ikea storage drawers form the bed base in this design by Hitta Hem, an instantly wonderful boy bedroom idea. Taking a couple of standard white MALM drawer units, design duo Pella Hedebyand Marie Ramse highlight the potential of Ikea furniture. The Ikea bed hack not only offers up storage in spades, but also the base for the mattress to rest on. Now that’s clever.
